Comment on ‘‘Glueball spectrum from a potential model’’

چکیده
1550-7998=20 In a recent article, W.-S. Hou and G.-G. Wong [Phys. Rev. D 67, 034 003 (2003)] have investigated the spectrum of two-gluon glueballs below 3 GeV in a potential model with a dynamical gluon mass. We point out that, among the 18 states calculated by the authors, only three are physical. The other states either are spurious or possess a finite mass only due to an arbitrary restriction of the variational parameter.

متن کاملThe Glueball Spectrum from Novel Improved Actions
Results for the inter-quark potential and low-lying SU (3) glueball spectrum from simulations using a new improved action are presented. The action, suitable for highly anisotropic lattices, contains a two-plaquette term coupling with a negative coefficient as well as incorporating Symanzik improvement.
متن کامل0 A Lattice Study of the Glueball Spectrum †
Glueball spectrum is studied using an improved gluonic action on asymmetric lattices in the pure SU(3) gauge theory. The smallest spatial lattice spacing is about 0.08fm which makes the extrapolation to the continuum limit more reliable. In particular, attention is paid to the scalar glueball mass which is known to have problems in the extrapolation. Converting our lattice results to physical u...
متن کاملFrom Linear to Complicated to Complex; Comment on “Using Complexity and Network Concepts to Inform Healthcare Knowledge Translation”
Attention to collaborative approaches to encouraging evidence use in healthcare practice are gaining traction. The inherent complexities in collaborative and networked approaches to knowledge translation (KT) have been embraced by Kitson and colleagues in their complexity network model. In this commentary, the potential of complexity as presented by Kitson et al within their model is considered...
متن کاملScalar glueball in a holographic model of QCD
Recently, a lot of interest has grown around the possibility of applying string inspired techniques to the non-perturbative regime of QCD. The starting point is the AdS/CFT correspondence [1], a conjectured duality between a maximally supersymmetric strongly coupled conformal field theory and the supergravity limit of type IIB string theory, which involves theories different from QCD. Further d...
